F1-trac stability control for maximum driving pleasure

The know-how developed on racetracks around the world appears in the Ferrari 599 GTB in the form of F1-trac traction control integrated with the stability control. This system provides the maximum possible grip, using predictive software in its control system to estimate the optimal grip and continually adjust the engine's output to achieve it. Driving is progressive and effective, thanks to maximum traction coming out of a turn. The end result also allows amateur drivers to push the car to the limit in complete safety even in the most extreme situations.

Shift speed from Formula 1

The Ferrari 599 GTB is equipped with the F1-Superfast gearbox, enabling gear changes in just 100 ms. This is made possible by the combined disengaging/engaging of the gears partly in parallel with letting the clutch in and out: torque cutting and clutch disengagement; gear disengagement and engagement and subsequent clutch reengagement. The operation is so fast thanks to a clutch engagement time of 40 ms on which the two combined actions of clutch in and out and the associated reduction and return of engine torque overlap simultaneously.
